Apparently WindowBlinds overrides all Start Menu skin font information. This often leads to white-text-on-white-background issues. Is there a way Classic Shell could be set to "ignore" WindowBlinds? Or could such a feature be added? (Yes, I've tried adding an exception for ClassicStartMenu...

I just remembered that I managed to install Classic Shell 3.6.8 (?) on Windows 10 without it being wiped after doing a bit of MANIFEST editing...could that be the key? .__.

Yea, that shine in w7 that moves around with the button is def not worth adding :P I always liked the Shine, but meeh, as long as it isn't disabled in Windows 7 and 8.1 without option... :lol: and yea I would agree that it should have 9 slices like the menu buttons. I think it might just be me whose lost, but which application buttons? Like google chromes icon on the taskbar? because thats what the linked method does :P Close. The problem with the button skinning is that buttons need a large number of custom images. The button can be with or without text, grouped or not. Buttons have many states - normal, hover, pressed, active, progress, error, etc. And on top of that the buttons look different on each of the 4 taskbar ...

Drawing text with glow is not a simple task. Particularly with the amount of text you have in the start menu. Windows 7 does it using specifically optimized code, which will be hard to replicate. Well that's odd - either I was hallucinating, or it worked fine on Windows 8.1 update 1 for me when I was using 4.2.5 .

I think Text Glow is broken in the 4.2.6 beta...I had a skin with it working properly in 4.2.5, but that exact skin no longer shows text glow in 4.2.6 D:

EDIT: Forgot to mention that I am using Windows 8.1 update 1, and...I do have Aeroglass 8.1+ installed. Also it's a Windows 7 style skin.

Windows default behavior when the start menu is on the side is to make it overlap the taskbar; hence the option to push it to the side Windows default behavior when the start menu is on the top/bottom is not to overlap the taskbar; it would make sense that unchecking the same setting would cause it...
