Even if one does not use Metro, it is still running, consuming processor power and disk throughput share. This reg file changes the folder icon and disables the folder thumbnails so that all folders to use the same icon (other thumbnails remain). This works only on Windows 8 (and, maybe, Win10)!

I most of all like the 32px icon size but since Vista if you set the size to 32px, the labels appear to the right of the icon rather than below. Is there a way to make the size 32px but still keeping the labels below? Also a separate menu entry to quickly switch to this size would be great. |

This script combines the two tasks: removes the address bar and adds the 3D border. Note though that it works properly only when "open each folder in separate window" option is enabled. |

There are also a white and a blue Win8 logos in C:\Windows\system32\wucltux.dll in Windows 8/8.1 only (but not Windows 7 or Windows 10).
And a colored Windows 7 logo in C:\Windows\system32\Winver.exe. |

By the way, a workaround for the too close position of Quick Launch and the start button is to create an empty launch bar in between. Well, looks like you have 3 separate programs that all try to mess with the layout of the taskbar. That's not at all supported. They can't all get their way.
