While it's not free, I'd recommend buying WindowBlinds if you want that sort of skinning. It's pretty cheap too, 9.99 USD. Plays nicely with Classic Shell as far as I can see. I'd like to add that Windows Visual Styles are far cheaper. Free, in fact. Heck, here's one for Windows 8.1, to get you sta...

Hey, I'm fairly new here! I downloaded the Longhorn Hillel skin and had one question. Is there a way to get the User Picture using this skin in the right-hand column of the start menu, as in Windows 7? I'm still using 7 and the only thing about the skin I'm disappointed about is that there's no opt...

@Splitwirez, You can already have Classic Shell not autostart when Explorer starts by unchecking "Start automatically for this user" on General Behavior tab. Run it manually from C:\Program Files\Classic Shell\ClassicStartMenu.exe. I've never found that that Setting reliably disables it.....

Yes, technically it is possible, but makes some scenarios trickier - like handling restart of Explorer. I'd like to note that not having Classic Shell autostart whenever explorer starts is actually desirable under certain circumstances - for example, I'm developing Start9 now, so the only time I wa...

No, it blurs whatever is behind it by the same amount no matter what opacity you pick, even 0. Also the alpha channel mask could make for some interesting taskbars. What would be REALLY sweet is if you could choose a 2nd alpha channel mask to create glass that distorts the image behind it depending...
