Classic Shell was the FIRST thing I installed when my Windows 8.1 decided not to boot up anymore and had to reinstall. We went to Windows 10 at work and without it, I would absolutely hate the new OS! BRAVO

Version is Windows 10. They did away with the "Start' settings in the taskbar in Windows 10. Used to be a tab when you right clicked taskbar and under "Jump List" (Windows 8.1) was a box to check to store recently opened programs and store and display recently opened items in the Jump...

In the "RUN" command on the start menu I used to see suggestions or a drop down history if you clicked the little arrow on the right. Now nothing shows up in the history. Is there a way to enable history on the Classic Start or perhaps in the registry?

What is your monitor resolution?
It is a HP 15 laptop. Screen resolution is at max at 1366 X 768. There was a setting in it to change the size of text in the Menu bars, Title bars, etc. I changed the Menu bar from 9 to 12 and the menus up to 10. Most are set at 9.

I guess you are talking about resizing the Settings window, not the menu. It can be resized like any other window, however there is a minimum size. If you have a small resolution display with large DPI setting, then it is possible that even at its minimum size the Settings window may not fit well o...

Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!! I hit the ok, but it was in the area of the taskbar. I "autohide" the taskbar and then just clicked "OK" and it remained. Is there a way to resize the menu to do the Classic Start so that it is not so tall?

I have Windows 10 Pro on my computer. I have installed Classic Shell and I noticed that one of the things missing from Windows 10 was the colored title bar and borders. On 8.1 you could at least change the title bar color to sync with the chosen background or choose another one. Now there is only a ...

On my Windows XP there was shading in the area of the text box under the desktop icon. I found it very useful as I could see a contrast always between the background (small rectangular box) that surrounded the text. In Windows 8.1 and 10 The text is sort of white and really annoying when you have a ...

I have been tweaking around in Windows 10 and using Classic Shell and find it very much like XP Pro now. In fact, many of the registry tweaks and security settings gs I did in XP in Services.msc and other places seem to be in place in Windows 8.1 already. For instance, XP comes with the Remote Regis...

Agree. I have earlier and later builds of Windows 10 and seem to work well in both the 32 bit and 64 bit versions. IF I want Cortana for search, it seems rather moot since Google or Bing will give me more precise control and I can then "tab" into the results to see what I may want to look ...
