Many thanks for the advice. I have muddled my way to my home screen and uninstalled Classic Shell. Maybe re-install when sure backup is on another drive.

Installed last night on my Windows 8.1 machine and worked to some estent. Did a normal shutdown and when I booted this a.m., I got my normal login screen, entered my pin and then all I get is a black screen with a moveable mouse. Am vision impaired and dufficult to read all this stuff. I really need...
