I've switched back to the standard Windows Explorer. The behavior is the same, so at least it's not Classic Explorer's fault. Seems like it must be a Vista/Win7 thing that wasn't like that in XP. That said, I'm finding that I actually prefer the behavior of the standard Windows Explorer better than ...

This is still like it was. Forget about drag-and-drop. Just please add Classic Explorer settings to the Settings menu, thank you.

I was reading about a hidden feature in the normal Windows Start Menu, where there's an 'Exit Explorer' option when you do a Ctrl-Shift-RightClick somewhere in a blank area of the Start Menu. http://www.winhelponline.com/blog/how-to-terminate-and-restart-explorerexe-process-cleanly-in-windows-7-and-...

This has been driving me crazy. This behavior has to either be broken or else I'm missing a setting somewhere to make it work like it should. When I move or copy a new file into a folder, the folder sort order is deselected (all column headers are un-highlighted). After the move or copy, the file si...

You can drag shortcuts into the Start menu, and into the Programs menu. But for some reason, not the Settings (or Documents) menu.

It would be nice to simply be able to drag and drop things into the Settings Menu instead of having to use the overly complicated 'Custom Command' feature in the CSM settings. If that cannot be accomplished, a couple of commands that I'd like to see as standard are 'Classic Explorer' settings (reall...

Seems to me that this should be in a FAQ somewhere, no? As to uninstalling components, it's not the first application that I've encountered that works like this, but it's fairly uncommon. As to disabling the Explorer enhancements, I'm not sure I'd seen any mention that Classic Explorer consisted of ...

Hmmm.... What is the standard, default behavior in Windows 7's Explorer? In XP I have a horizontal scroll bar, but I don't get the automatic scrolling behavior. I followed your instructions in the other thread and disabled the Explorer add-ons through Internet Options. Now I have no scrollbar and no...

Thanks for the reply.

That setting doesn't appear to do anything. Is it dependent on the theme being used? I'm not using Aero, but instead a variation on Windows 7 Basic.

I went from Windows XP to Windows 7, and never used Vista in between. Within hours of installing Windows 7 on a new build, I installed Classic Shell. So I'm somewhat unfamiliar with the behavior of the standard Windows Explorer in Windows 7, but it was the jumping folders that prompted me to begin u...

This has to be easier than it seems. How do you disable Classic Explorer and keep Classic Start Menu?
