Thank you, this is much more clear to me now. I tried to change the shortcut for Computer, in the ini file. But ... which entry is it (under US English). I see Control Panel, Printers, Run, Search, etc. but not Computer. Why do I wish to change this shortcut? Because Control Panel is using "c&q...

Thank you. What might be a couple examples of custom menu items, just so I can get the distinction clearly in my mind?

Thank you! #1 works, but of course now the name looks funny. I seem to recall an older version of Classic Start Menu, in which these shortcuts could be set in an ini file. Greetings! Before I installed Classic Shell, I had some little popup menus installed on my Task Bar. These proved most convenient. Now that I have learned to make applications appear in the leftmost column of the Start Menu by pinning shortcuts to Classic Start Menu, I have two new questions: 1. How can I choose/control the shortcut for each pinned application (other than first letter or by inserting a made-up first letter)? 2....

Hey, it worked! Thank you! One follow-up question: Do I have to navigate to the executable and pin that, or can I pin any shortcut just as well?

How do I get the program to populate the left-hand column (classic view) from programs listed in the Start Menu folder? And how do I control the shortcuts for these (other than by changing the first letters via Rename)? Thank you!

Is there documentation for Classic Shell? For example, if I wish to read about jump lists in Classic Start Menu, where might I look?
