Is it advisable for a Windows 8.1 user of Classic Shell 4.2.1 to change to Classic Shell release candidate 4.2.3? Would there be any disadvantages in doing that?

GauravK, that makes sense. However, when Windows XP support ended, I migrated to the then-latest version -- i.e., Windows 8.1. In Classic IE, the color of title bar text can be customized. Is that also possible in Classic Explorer? If it is not presently possible, can that feature be added to Classic Explorer?

Jcee and GauravK, thank you very much for sharing your experience with those products. I’ve made a similar inquiry on the 7+ Taskbar Tweaker forum, and based on the response there and here I think the feature-rich QTTabBars will be the one I try.
