OK, thanks for that clarification.

But the real issue is why Classic Explorer interferes with the install of the other software.

Hi Ivo, The problem is not with Classic IE . I'm pretty sure the problem is with Classic Explorer (for Windows File Explorer, not IE). I think your post talks about disabling add-ons for Classic IE . Tried to install a simple freeware file shredding utility on my Win7 64 system: http://www.fileshredder.org/.
