What you see as "Large Icons", "Extra Large Icons" etc and other views are all thumbnails in Windows 7 Explorer. Check in Tool menu -> Folder Options or Control Panel -> Folder Options if the option "Always show icons, never thumbnails" is checked. It should be uncheck...

By 'thumbnail view', do you mean 'filmstrip view' or do you mean the flat folder thumbnails used by XP Explorer? MS made folder thumbnail style icons non-customizable in Vista/7/8, so they can't be changed. :( They only show in the 3D/angled style. Don't know filmstrip view. XP Explorer offers Thum...

Using Windows 7 64 bit, and I really miss the Windows XP thumbnail view in Explorer. I know there are some workarounds that enable thumbnails using the preview pane for one file at a time, but having the icon as the thumbnail was really convenient for folders with photos and videos.
