Thanks, I'll try the Windows 8.1 solution avenue for this small but annoying problem

Installed Classic Shell 4.0.4 on Windows 8.1 Dell system. Have two user profiles on system. On hard shutdown after user log off; when system is restarted the screen automatically goes to the last user page and bypasses the selection screen to choose a user for this session.
