Thanks again Gaurav,
1. Guilty as charged! I added the menu folders and shortcuts by right clicking the menu and adding a folder, then dragging the shortcuts to that folder.
2. I see what you mean about the flaky search.
Thanks again. Now I know how to avoid this problem in the future. |

Thank-you for the reply Gaurav. Actually, I spent most of yesterday manually rebuilding my custom additions to the menu. With your suggestion I did find the old custom menu files. They were located in "C:\ClassicShellMenu\filename. This now seems obvious and I can't explain how I was manually u... |

I just upgraded my Win 8.1 Pro X64 computer to Win 10 Pro X64. Since I still don't like the Win10 start menu, it was necessary to reinstall the latest version of Classic Start. All is well except several custom additions that I previously made to the start menu are missing. On the main level of the ... |

Just installed version 4.2.4.
Works like a charm!
Thanks Classic Shell. You are the best thing that has happened to Windows 8 and Windows 10! |

I'm using Classic Start 4.2.1 on a newly upgraded Win 10 PC.
The Windows apps are not showing in the apps menu and I can't find an option in the settings to show them.
They show on the Apps menu on my other computer that still has Win 8.1.
What am I missing? |

After Googling for a while, I found a thread in the "WindowsEightFourm" that speaks to this issue. As Ivo suggested, this seems to be a Windows problem. That thread suggested adding the program to the Task Scheduler. That seems to work although it is a little convoluted. Since it used to w... |

Wait for 10-15 seconds and check in the Task Manager if you see a process for RealTemp.exe. On Windows 8 and 8.1 programs in the Startup folder don't run immediately but with some delay. [blockquote] No. RealTemp does not appear in the Task Manager after startup [/blockquote] Does the target exe &q... |

First, I have to say that I LOVE CLASSIC SHELL!!!!!!! I simply detest the Win 8 modern start screen and Classic Start turn this horrible Win 8 OS into a really good operating system. If MS was smart, they would buy your company and make Classic Start part of the OS. Now for my petty little problem. ... |

WOW! Thank-you for the fast reply!
Got it! I was missing the necessity to link it to a folder that I had to previously create.
BTW - This program is awesome. I have been extremely frustrated with the lack of a traditional start menu in Win 8. This program is just the ticket! |

Maybe I'm blind but..... I'm looking to add custom folders to the Classic Start menu. I want to add an empty folder (or menu item) to which I can drag other programs so that I can select them in a sub menu. For example, I'd like to create a menu item called "Video Apps". I'd like to have t... |
