My convention is to assign Ctrl+Shft+<key> to a shortcut which does something within an application, and Ctrl+Shft+<key> to one that has wider scope in its actions. In Windows 7, I have two input languages and three keyboard layouts defined. Recently, I have observed that pressing the / key in WordP...

Unchecking All columns the same size has allowed me to see more of the file names in the fourth column. But still no scroll bar(s).

I have "All Programs" style set to "Cascading sub-menu". I see four columns (of which the fourth only shows partially). So I think that I need a horizontal scroll bar to see file names that won't fit on the screen.

Thanks. You answered while I was editing. I quote my new stuff: I have not found a way of reaching files that are near the end of the directory listing. At the moment, I am working on a 1024x768 screen. There are 133 objects in the directory. The right-hand column only shows partially: I can see onl...

AutoIt does have the ability to set hot keys, but I am not using that feature. Hot keys in Desktop icons/shortcuts worked fine in XP.

I will think about how to test hot keys ceasing to work.

But Win 7 tries to run an application on the file I single left click. This is not what I want, because there being many files in the directory, I wish...

My understanding (and experience) is that, in Win 7, assigning Short cut keys to links on the Desktop does almost nothing (see below): that for Win 7 to see them, they have to be defined in Recently opened programs. If the above is correct, perhaps Classic Shell should add the ability to have short ...

But doing so would offend the manager of my computer! He expects AutoIt scripts to be in the AutoIt Scripts folder.

I figured out how to do it: ⋅ In the left column, click on Programs ⋅ In the right column, right click on Custom ⋅ Click on the only item there: Add to menu ⋅ In the left column, right-click on Custom. Custom appears at same level as Programs ⋅ In th...

.au3 files are AutoIt scripts. In Computer, double-clicking on one runs it.
