You are right. I managed to get this to work via GPO as follows:-User Configuration --> Polices-->Administrative Templates -->Start Menu and Taskbar . Set Turn off notification area cleanup to Enable .

I am using the Windows 7 Style Menu in conjunction with Group Policies. If I right click on customize to manage what notification icons appear on the system tray, nothing happens. Has anyone seen this behaviour?

Hi GauravK, Thanks for staying with me on this. Let me clarify:- Originally, I started with a Classic 2 Column Start Menu and tied this in with MS Group Polices. As I result I could not get the Log Off menu to appear in the second column. The best I could do was get the Shutdown... option to display...

Looks like the policy editor doesn't like it when there is a blank line at the end of the text. Remove the last blank line and try again. Thanks GauravK. For the Show Apps menu option, should the setting be as follows:- - Enabled - State: Locked to this value - Show Apps Menu (unchecked) As I understand it, the Disabled option does not currently work according to the release notes. Is that correct as well?

I am using 4.2.1 and have enabled the Hide app shortcuts option. However, I still see the Apps menu icon which displays the Store and PC Setting s option. The Menu is set to Classic 2 column . Can anyone advise me where I have gone wrong?

Thanks for the response. If I cannot use Group Policy to configure my Citrix servers (I have 18), can you advise where I need to make the changes (registry or file path) on the individual servers so all users will automatically use Classic Menu, configured in a particular way?

I will be upgrading to Citrix XenDesktop (App Editon) and just need to know if Classic Shell this will work in a Citrix environment which will be running Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2. If you can, can I use folder redirection as well via Group Policy? Thanks.
