I'm using the Windows 7 style. Do I have to be using another style to get the icons I want?

Hello, I would like to modify the existing "Windows 8" skin to add icons to This PC, Documents, Downloads, etc. I have tried setting the icons manually via Customize Start Menu>Edit Item> Browse for Icon, with no luck. I have also tried using Resource Hacker to open the skin file and mess ...
