The Wi-Fi list in tray stopped working for me after some time after installing Explorer Patcher (the window appears but empty).

StartAllBack disactivates all tray icons, even volume control.

You can use any color scheme you prefer, the colors are stored in registry. If you want everything Win2000-like, you can do it.

The solution you proposed for Windows 8 does not work with Windows 7. Besides, the way it works with Windows 8 leaves much to be desired, because a lot of control elements do not look classically at all, Which ones? moreover, the color scheme does not match the classic one in 50% of the sites. What...

No. There is no corresponding memory area on Win7, by deleting or modifying access rights to which we can trigger classic theme on Win8 and Win10.

On Win8 you can use Classic theme with hardware acceleration.

An easier way is to rename these two files in System32 folder:

Windows.Shell.Search.UriHandler.dll
Windows.UI.Search.dll

This completely removes the Charmsbar and does not take any memory.

%SystemDrive%\Classic\shutdown.vbs -a

(a meaningless parameter which is not processed by the script), and the empty element disappeared.

I am using fxxkmetro with Windows 8.1. One issue with it is that when metro is killed, Explorer gets too long to terminate when shutting down or rebooting or logging off.

I now fixed this problem by creating these scripts and modifying accordingly the Classic Shell menu items.
