@Jcee... That link you provided is too difficult to use. There is no installation program just a bunch of zip files for both 32 and 64 bit systems. UPDATE...since you said settings would remain even after uninstalling I uninstalled and reinstalled 4.2.5 and it seems like it's working OK now. Thanks ...

Why would the "Classic Start Menu" not run? What could prevent it from starting up?

4.2.4 has been working perfectly since I installed it this spring when I got this computer running Win 8.1.

Why all of a sudden with the update to 4.2.5 would it not work?

Guys 4.2.4 works PERFECTLY. 4.2.5 does NOT work. There is no reason after updating to 4.2.5 that the taskbar would go transparent (unless it was changing settings). Yes, using Windows 8.1 (did NOT upgrade to 10, too afraid)...NOT only did the taskbar become transparent but when I clicked on the Windows Start Button it did NOT pull up the Windows Start Menu. This was my first update to Classic Shell ever. I had to revert to have Windows 8.1 go back in time to undo the update Classic Shell changed. I'm PLEADING with the developers of Classic Shell...PLEASE don't change ANY settings AT ALL when upgrading to a newer version. ALL SETTINGS SHOULD ALWAYS REMA...
